$\begin{align}  & \text{Given }XY=12cm \\ & XO=\frac{15}{2}\text{      (radius of the circle)} \\ & XZ=2XO=2\times \frac{15}{2}\text{=15cm     (diameter of the circle)} \\ & YZ=\sqrt{{{15}^{2}}-{{12}^{2}}}=\sqrt{225-144}\text{   (Pythagoras theorem)} \\ & YZ=\sqrt{81}=9 \\ & \text{Area of }\Delta =\tfrac{1}{2}\text{ }base\text{ }\times \text{ }height \\ & Area\text{ of }\Delta XYZ=\tfrac{1}{2}\times 9\times 12=54c{{m}^{2}} \\\end{align}$
